Mounjaro (active substance: tirzepatide) is an injectable medicine that is given once a week. It works by activating two hormones — GLP-1 and GIP — that are naturally present in your body and are involved in regulating blood sugar and appetite. Thanks to this effect, Mounjaro helps you feel less hungry, get satiated earlier and thus lose weight. It is originally used in people with type 2 diabetes, but has also been found to be effective for people without diabetes who want to lose weight.
